I am very close to ordering a lift kit and I was leaning towards the 3" Rough Country. Is this my best bet for my money? I do most of my driving in the city and want to start off roading a little. I also really like the look of the Nitto mud grapplers. Would 33" tires fit with this lift on stock rims? Are they still good for wet road conditions and a bit of snow.
Any thoughs and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a 3" rough country lift for a little more than 1 1/2 years. I have run 285/70/17 Goodyear MTRs and 285/70/17 BFG TA/KOs. Without any problems.

I think the ride is better than stock and you get a little more clearance for off road.

I know several people who have kept their rigs stock and just put better tires on and have just as much fun offroad as I do.

Toyo Mt is a great tire all around. Does well offroad, are one of the most quiet mts I have ever seen, and they wear REALLY well. Better than many other mt tires out there. IMO

33" tires should fit neatly under this lift. Since you will be using the stock wheels, you should not have to worry about doing the 'frame chop'. There's already a running argument somewhere on this site about tires. Go read that thread and become increasingly confused about tires.

i've got the 3" rough country lift- no problems and it looks great. I agree with the toyo tires- great wear as long as you rotate in an x pattern with every oil change. I wouldn't put 33's on a 3" lift. the biggest they recommend are 285/75 and you can use your stock wheels.

Not sure what your trying to say here.
I have a 3" lift and run 285/70/17 Goodyear MTR's which measure just over 33".

I won a 3" Rough Country lift in a contest and it works fine. Definitely done a bit of wheelin' with it.

brazenhead is right 285s are a little over 33 inch. i just got a set of 33x12.50 mt mtz hight is fine but do have to find someone to chop the body mount. looks like about a quater of a inch or so needs to go. mostly hits the plastic from the mud guard than it does the metal of this mount.
