Anyone know a source for a receiver lunette ring with a 3" hole diameter? The one pictured is from Northern Tool but only has a 2.5" hole.

these folk offer some 3" ID lunette rings...
but not the sort that fit in a receiver.

probably help a little if you gave us some insight,
into what you are up to ?

Can't say I've ever seen or run across a 3" ID lunette receiver mount,
discounting custom fabrication from similar above ^
or the 1/4 ton military lunette

Plan to remove my standard 2" ball set up on the Starcraft pop-up camper. I have a M101a and like the pintle/lunette set up. I'll probably have to fab one. The one pictured with the 2.5" hole would probably work. But the 3" lunette I'm used to does not make any of the noise most everyone complains about. So I figured I shouldn't mess with what works.

Or maybe just pony up for a max coupler instead.

I retain the original lunette on my M100,
but installed the Max. C. as the primary tow point.

did this because muh hauler dictated the the
hitch/trailer tongue needed to be longer to clear at 90*

also the longer length trailer tongue makes for easier backing and a more stable tow.

The Max C. tho' maybe not the easiest to hook up...
is purdy tough... and articulates well...

In fact it does way better then my M100's original 360* lunette.

Here's the rigors I put muh Max C./M100 thru... not a whimper

1st obstacle on Pinyon Trail, Anza Borrego, CA.

"The Squeeze" Pinyon Trail, Anza/Borrego, CA.

The drop off (aka Heart Attack Hill), Pinyon Trail, Anza/Borrego, CA.

Last obstacle/climb, Pinyon Trail, Anza/Borrego, CA.

IMO the Max. C. is worth the investment ;)

I was going to build something like that but with less height options.

But today I played with my 101a lunette and pintle and decided I want the max coupler. There just is not enough articulation without a rotating lunette or pintle IMO.

I might be able to fab in a 101a rotating lunette but I think the trailer tongue jack would get in the way. I plan to leave for CM13 in two weeks so I don't have time to source one and play with it.

Something you may want to explore is going with a different pintle. These are sized somewhat differently and design differences are also a factor. There are plain ol' pintles with no provision for a ball-type hitch. There are pintles with a cast-in ball and there are pintles with the separate ball that bolts into the lower part of the pintle. And all of these can come in different sizes.

Given a pintle is pretty much bolt-on and a new lunette will required fabbing and/or welding, the easy road would be to swap the pintle instead of the lunnette.

I have to fab the trailer end either way. It currently has a 2" ball coupler that I don't care for. It's just going to be easier to do the max coupler and ultimately that is what I wanted anyway.

And yes I have though about bolting it on top of the M101a frame but that is not as easy as it may seem. Not would it pass the wife's approval.

Just the 6000lb. Did not realize there was a HD option? Its going on a pop-up with a 2700-ish gross rating. Should be just fine.

I'm hoping hook up is not too bad. Tongue weight is a little more than my back wants to wrestle with. Its not like the M101a that is heavy but manageable. I don't dare try to move the pop-up by hand in my yard as its not level.
