3-Door Prado Diesel ?

Hi! My name is Carlos and I'm moving to Colombia in January. Is it possible to special-order a diesel for a new Prado Sumo 3dr? I've googled it and they seem to have sold them in Peru before.

Also, how does the 2.0L diesel compare to the 2.7L gas and to the 3.0L diesel in the 5-door?

Hey carlos, It looks like you are going to be taking the leap from the US to colombia like I did. i moved here (currently in Villavicencio) about a year ago. I currently have a 2008 Prado VX and I would have to say that its a great vehicle.

If your loooking for a Diesel in a prado, you wont find one made nationally you would have to go with a 120 series version which are made in Japan and you from the US would Recognize it as the Lexus GX470 they come in 2door and 5 door versions in Japan.

here you only find the 2.7L gas in the 2 door version and 3.4L gas in the 5 door VX version. If you need anymore info I can help you out.. Where would you be moving too??

Thanks for the reply! I sort of figured those would be my options, but one can hope!

I've got a condo in Pozos Colorados, Santa Marta, but we really love Medellin/LLanogrande, so my wife and I are probably going to live there most of the time. We'll see- it's a big country and there's still a lot of exploring to do before we settle down.

We intend to find a 4X4 club nearby at some point, but for now, we just want to get settled in.
