If any one is interested in seeing how the install is progressing take a look in the truck tech section under wiring nightmare! Help!. I've posted pics of how its coming.

You are a brave, brave man. My hat is off to you. Good luck, looking good so far.

I don't get it, why do you say I'm a brave man? I'm just stuffing an engine in something I hope will work?

the wiring. trying to get all of the components on the steering column to work properly via matching up as closely as I can the wiring from the 90 harness. I think I have the heater, the radio, the fuel pump and most of the other components wired correctly. Just can't seem to figure out the windshield wipers, the turn signals, (hazards work via 90 push button, but don't know how to wire it into the column). I have by-passed the clutch start/neutral start switch. Other nightmare is the dash components, oil pressure, temperature, alt light etc. I have started it and found that the rpm gauge is working properly, but other than that, I'm flying by the seat of my pants.

I do have wiring diagrams, but I'm not positive about how to read them. did I mention that you posted the correct link, thanks.

It's all about the wiring. I hate wiring.:hillbilly:

Automotive schematics are harder to read compared to most. And Toyota tends to use a mix of standard schematic symbols and graphic symbols which confuses things more for me.

moving along, got the running lights working tonight, and the brake master cylinder sensor wires figured out and last but not least the dash dimmer switch wires figured out. with any luck, tomorrow night I will figure out the turn signals and hazard switch. guess it's best to go just a little at a time and do the best that I can.

progress continues. dash is wired, yes! even got the volt meter and oil pressure gauge working tonight, still having a booger of a time with getting the lights on the dash to work, but I'm getting it figured out one wire at a time. turn signals and hazard switch got put on hold until tomorrow or the next day, but it's slowly coming together.

turn signals, hazard, horn, brake sensor done. it starts, gauges work! now onto the rest of this project.

electric fan

I do have a need here, does anyone have an electric fan that they would be willing to part with, the clutch fan will not work, not enough distance between engine and radiator.:whoops:
