Beating a dead horse but after doing a full top end rebuild on an LS earlier this year successfully, I was feeling dangerous and an elbow deep in the timing belt job for my ‘05 Sequoia. Having a heck of a time lining up the marks and not being off a tooth. Someone tell me it’s simple and I’m just a complete moron please. See video:

The belt won’t line up with the Marks unless the driver side is super tight. Start with lining up the crank and belt marks and pulling up as tight as you can, slightly advanced the cam T Mark and align with timing mark on belt then put a clamp on it so it doesn’t jump off then lineup other cam Mark. Check out the Otramm videos on mud they really help. good luck.
