Anyone know the bearing sizes for the 2UZ-FE alternator? I want to add some to my spares kit in case they fail on a long trip.

Been researching parts to rebuild my alternator (I have an 2005) and stumbled across your post. I couldn't find this info anywhere, but this is what I uncovered so far, but cross referencing different service manuals, toyota part listings, and replacement part sites. I am doing the same for the starter. Please comment if there is an error!

I believe the recommended bearing should be dual side shielded (-suffix code should be like: VV or 2RS or DDU). Koyo, NSK, Nachi? I believe most of the OEM bearings were Koyo.

Are the later alts easy to swap on the 98 models?

I think the 80 to 100 amp swap is 1 to 1, but 80 or 100 to 130 amp, you have to get an alternator plug pigtail as the interface changed from oval to a square shape.

But not having done it, I'm unsure. The replacement pulleys are given different part numbers but I'm unsure if the diameter actually changed.
