I am back on task to complete modifying the 2nd row 60 piece (of the 60/40 split) in to a seperate chair so that the 3rd row can be utilizied without flipping seats. Has anyone done this or does anyone have the big part (in tan leather) of the 2nd row seat they want to sell?

Thanks,

You use the third row seats?

All the time. We have two small children and they have a bunch of friends. They usually take 6 people plus driver and passenger on field trips.

Not sure how far you want to go with this but just in case...........

Cconsider what you would spend on this mod for buying the new seat, cutting, hacking, fabbing mounts, upholstery costs etc. Add it all up.

Now look at this for an option

If you want to stay OEM, and have full safety, original anchor points, original seat and mounting points, seat belts etc., why don't you try to source and ship a single LEFT second row seat from a RHD vehicle. This will replace your 60% seat and you will now have 2 single seats in the rear with a gap in the middle. They will be original OEM, look good and function perfectly. They will both continue to tilt and fold up out of the way when you want the to. They will be secure, safe and all original OEM mounts will be used. No hacking, no cutting, no upholstery, nos safety issues! It may cost a little more but the finish and safety aspect would be far better IMHO! Shipping and sourcing won't happen tomorrow, but something to think about, you will als only be shipping a smaller seat. Maybe MOT could find one, not sure about availability in Australia, maybe UK etc?

Slee has a row for sale on his site. Tan I think.

Thanks.

As far as safety concerns, I will leave the original anchor points and seat belt points. I just want to remove the center seat foam and restitch the siding back onto the new section. I want armrest however that is not a top priority since all the kid booster seats have armrests.

I thought you would be cutting the centre seat base up to remove it to have clear rear access. It appears that the 60% seat mounts in the centre so you would have to leave the main seat frame there to keep the seat strength and safety intact, maybe I don't see exactly what you you are going to do.

wont work, the floor mounts are different per which side the car is setup for. LHD/RHD cars have different mount locations on the floor.

that is so fu(kin pimp.
more pix?
what kind of rims do you put on a thing like that:doh:
