Looking at getting an early 2nd gen tundra 4x4 5.7.
I dont know much about the 3ur motor and can't seem to find a good common issue or things to look for list.

Truck has 250,000 miles on it. Looks good price is $7500 which is slightly below average for 2nd gens with similar mileage in this area.

I know @fourtraHad one and @forthas one and im sure a fre others do or at least have experience with 3urs in a 200

solid motors. mine had 215k when i got it and about 280k when i sold it, was just getting broke in.
they had some rear outer axle shaft bearing issues in the 1st couple years.
the transfer case (if moisture got into it) would stop going into 4wd, a simple part but, not an easy fix. i just got a used t-case and rolled on.
didn't really have any issues with it.

Feel like I have to remind you @lt1fire thay you live in Washington, lol.

Are Tundras here in WA somehow different from those in NC. Did you get the Eastern BBQ Edition and we got the Sushi edition?
Wondered like they smelled like tuna.....

On a side note I do love in WA.... but I've loved the world over.... there is enough Al to go around

Is the moisture due to bad seals? The white one ended up a no show so I saw a blue one with 323k on it. Still felt rock solid..... only major issue except a torn drivers seat was a bad DS front wheel bearing

not sure where the moisture came from. maybe, 4wd was never used, maybe condensation or deep water from the vent tube. but the replacement motor was stupid expensive (Transfer Shift Actuator Assembly #36410-34031 | Autoparts.toyota.com - https://autoparts.hendricktoyotaapex.com/products/product/actuator-assy-transfer-shift-3641034031#popup-1) and you had to completely tear down the case to get to it. (wasn't and easy swap like the 1st gen). i picked up a used t-case with only 92k on it for $400 with a 90 warranty from the junk yard and spent about 90 minutes swapping it and never had had anymore issues. the seat tear is as common as the "D" light on an 80.

Thanks for all the info my guy. Thanks to you and others that PM'd me on mud I got a pretty good checklist going. Picked one up today for pretty dang cheap that i'll put in the other vehicles thread.
