2LTE Timing Belt Change Didn't Go As Planned

Unfortunately, the answer to all three questions is no. I can't find anything on the new belt that resembles a Toyota part number and my new tensioner didn't come with a replacement spring. The engine is fairly low miles, though, and I think I've pretty well determined that the tensioner isn't the problem.

Ok , but I would at least check to see if the spring is within spec. I'm not sure about the 2LT but the other diesels like the 1HZ 1KZ 1PZ etc require the spring to be under a specific length before reinstalling. This is so you know there is adequate tension on the idler to keep the belt in place.

There is a spec in the FSM for the max length of the spring when it is removed. That being said, I would just replace the thing. They aren't expensive. Why reuse an old spring? Also check on the pin that it looks to on the block, you can replace that as well if it is worn.
