Hey all.

Looking for a 2lte manifold I can use to turbo a 3l or 5l. Shipping to 93117. Thanks

Lars

New turbo in the mail but I still cant stick it to the side of my engine block. Anybody?

Haha. Thanks. Good find. I never got any replies here so I ended up buying that exact manifold and machining an adapter plate to fit my td04l. I'll post up some photos when I'm done with the project. The OEM manifolds look like they would have flowed nicely but this one actually sets everything up at nice angles for fitting the intake and exhaust

Sure thing. Should just be a couple of days pending good weather. Are you doing a similar project or did you just find this by chance?

Planning one but I haven't decided. I was thinking about importing a 90's donor surf 2l-t and using to turbo, boost compensator, ifs steering box, thermostat, and for all the other upgrades replacement parts. But I think brand new parts and a modern more efficient turbo might be much better.

Hmmm... I think it would be a lot cheaper to source the parts you want/need than buy and ship whole truck or half-cut. Im only into my turbo project for about 500 bucks and thats including a much better turbo than the ct20 the 2lts came with.

That being said, the boost compensator might be hard to find unless you find a helpful aussie/canadian with a spare. And a parts truck is always nice if you think you will get use out of spare body parts and drive components etc.

I've always been interested in that manifold from spa turbo, I finally got a hold of them one day and asked them if the flanges were the same for a CT 20 and they informed me that they are not. I've set up turbos before with adapter plates and didn't like the angle that I ended up with, I'm curious to see what yours looks like when you're done

I will probably do the same thing you are. I had originally priced some complete turbo kits out of Australia which had me thinking I could by a real low mileage surf with a bit of rust for the same price. A solid axle Hilux of the 3L era can really be upgraded with IFS surf parts. Better airbox, better seats, low temp thermostat, turbo, ifs hubs, rhd ifs steering box for hi steer, the boost comp/fuel pump, extra transfer case, plus all the spares.

My adapter is set up for using a td04l off a subaru, but Ill try and hold my old ct20 up in its place to get you a photo of how it fits. I would imagine it would fit fine. What year is your truck?

Hmm... Your truck is RHD? I hadnt thought about how youd set up hi steer in a RHD. Do you need a special aussie version of the histeer kit? or just the RHD IFS box and the same histeer kit as everybody else?

Yes it is right hand drive. It needs a separate setup for it but trail gear offers both LHD and RHD options for the same price. I was surprised how many Aussies pay to import a classic trail gear lift kit. Then in the USA everyone is going with Old Man Emu.

Hahaha. Everybody wants something they can't get easy. Heck. Look at us. We're rocking expensive japanese engines we can't get parts for cause nobody else has got em here :)
