Shell Rotella 15-40.
In all honesty, it’s a tractor motor. Any motor oil off the shelf is going to be fine.
No need to overthink motor oil on a 40+ year old engine.
cheapest 15w 40 diesel mineral engine oil , get it on sale, 10l at a time. do it often. In oz usually $80-100 aud, on sale $50-55

I don't necessarily go for the cheapest option, but I stick with a well-known brand that happens to be on sale at the time of purchase.
15w40 - Sometimes 100% mineral, sometimes semi-synthetic as I also have an HDJ100 that I pamper a little more... and I don't buy two different types of oil.
In any case, the replacement frequency is important: 6,000 km, as indicated in the Toyota maintenance manual.
