I am finishing a 2H rebuild that has taken a very long time due to wanting to not cut any corners and to replace everything that could be replaced which required sourcing of many parts that are NLA from Toyota. I found many parts that were NLA in warehouses around the world and everything came together just fine until we realized that the oil pans are not deep enough!
Otherwise the oil pans fit perfectly. I have a brand new 2H oil pan I got from Europe (spain), one from Malaysia, and one from the local Toyota industrial supply.... ALL of these new pans are approximately 1/2" less in depth which is a problem, because the strainer hits the bottom of the pan and as a result would require a spacer of sorts. Any ideas? I'm thinking that either there is such a piece that can go there (similar to splash screen on 12HT) or there is a different oil strainer that is needed. Any input welcomed.

Is it possible you have the wrong strainer/pickup? What is the heritage of your engine? Do you have the original sump?

Problem solved....found out today that there are two different styles....since I want to use the lower profile, new pan with skid plate and baffles, I need the matching strainer. Ordered it today from Australia. FWIW, one strainer is very roughly/approximately 10mm shorter in depth.
