What distinguishes a 10/85-on oil pan vs the early type?

I have a pan here, not sure what vintage it is.

My engine needed one but since they are very hard to find the pan is now covered over in sheet metal, essentially a pan over the pan.

Actually it is just as easy as you ship stuff within the US. It just costs more and takes 3 weeks to deliver.
