2f engine tic

Both my fj60's have a tic. It's NOT an exhaust tic, nor an internal engine knock. It is definitely mechanical, and external. Another 60 I am contemplating purchasing also has the same tic. Anybody know what this is and is it normal? It does not worry me, but I would like to know what it is.

Solid lifters have a noise to them, like a sewing machine.

Sound like a valve tic? Those valves need adjustments from time to time, and it is often overlooked. It is very easy & quick to do. Consult your service manual for proper procedure. With the rubber v-cover gskt. you won't even need to buy parts.

ha....exactly what it sounds like...i'll give them an adjustment tomorrow

its so worth adjusting your valves I just did mine and she runs like a new beast.
