26 or 29er?

Don't forget 650B. There are more tires available all the time, and even now there is one of anything you could want. It's the "sweet spot" between 26 and 29 - about 27.5. Great size, extremely versatile.

Really mix it up--a buddy of mine got a custom IF with a 29er front and a 650B rear. He loves it.

Go with a 29er they ride better on all trails including climbing. If where you live is fairly technical riding then the 29 will shine even more then the 26. The decend better and climb great. Will not be sorry. There are many articles that claim the 26 is dead for cross country racing and the 29 is the new king. Both national champs (marathon and cross country were won on a 29 moth men and women). I have a Fisher Superfly 100 and it is AWESOME!

I love these posts. I work for Niner Bikes (global sales mgr) and the founder Chris Sugai is 5'6" tall. So you know the bikes work for shorter people. My wife is 5'3" and 50mm stem. Her small is right on the "too big" size so I's say 5'4" and up you'll fit on a Niner.

I've been on 29ers for 11 years now and the parts selection is amazing. Way beack when we had three tires and I even bought 8 tires just in case. Look at it now...;p

Here are some of my bikes. If you are close to Fort Collins, CO you are welcome to try them if you can fit a size large (Yes, I like tang)

Man I miss Ft Collins - think I almost totaled my buddy's Stumpjumper on that exact same trail back in '99.

My FIL just bought a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR 29'r to take to the Congo. He was totally sold on the 29" platform and comfortable enough to take one to the absolute middle of nowhere. He opted for the full suspension as well over the hardtail, I hope that he is happy as I kinda coaxed him into a bike that might be a little more forgiving over crappy roads and trails.

If it only came with a motor I might have bought one too...

Hey, Brett,

My wife is 5'4" and both her bikes are 29ers. We just sold her old Trek Fuel 100 carbon 26er ride last weekend. I still hear the height thing from people taller than her and I want to ask if they're still on dial up because broadband is too new.

A buddy of mine swapped his JET9 in on a RIP thru your amazingly handled frame recall last fall. He loves it. Keep up the good work!

If you ever hit the east coast, we'll show you some good stuff.

Brett
