This is going to be a big event I have been told:clap:.

I was speaking with George from Valley Hybrids, he invited me to come down and hang with him and few people.

Never been to the Rubicon, so I posted my holidays for this event.

Who all else is planning to be there?

Rob

<--attending :)

Unsure which truck as of right now...we'll see how this winter's projects go ;)

See ya all there:popcorn::beer:

Edit, Nick, Casey, Marlin going?

My truck of choice would be the first ever landcruiser I owned 1983 BJ42 factory power steering and five speed, (aftermarket turbo), going to buy it this weekend if all pans out and hope to restore and drive it to this event with my son who was not even a year when I purchased it and now he is 18.

Hopefully you'll be OK with a few bumps and bruises along the way. It can get ugly...

LOL! The desire is there, but maybe not the $$$.
For certain I won't be driviing my BJ42. It's too precious to allow a driver like me to tear it up on the Rubithon.
Happy Trails! N

I'm seriously considering taking the 45 on that trail.

I have new bedsides to put on next year so if I ding up the old ones a bit, it won't bother me too much.

I would want to put sliders on it though.

Do you think the 32" skinnies on the split rims and an aussie locker in the back would do it?

Be good to see you, been a few years since we last had a beer together...

New job going well.

PS, this is my new handle since I had no part of Radd Cruisers for a few years since I sold it..

on the 45...

If bringing the 45, be sure to protect the rear (rounded) corners of the tub. You will absolutely take rock hits to that area and as you are aware, can be difficult to repair.

I remember the year an attendee brought in his sweet, restored and gorgeous FJ45. Smashed those corners bad at Gatekeeper and while I know he was caught up in the moment (stock truck, tough section of trail, folks cheering you on), he had to have wept once back at home and surveying the damage.

Thus was born the minimum truck requirements (coupled with the added effort to trail comm to escort stock trucks through the trail: work, work, work). some lift, some tires, some gears. Protection always highly recommended but certainly not required. :)

I also hear Bill Smith and a contingent from CO will be making the journey. Sweet! If you ever wanted to make the epic journey, 2013 is THE year to do it. Gas prices are moderate, trail is still open, and it's the 25th anniversary!

Yes, Marlin Crawler and the crew will be attending, always an honor for Rubithon to have Marlin present.
Yes, Metal Tech and Mark Hawley will be escorting in the FJ Cruiser run.
Yes, Mudrak and his double locker run will be rocking, rolling and repairing all over the trail as usual.

TLCA Board members, past and present, will be attending.
Ross Woody and the Kitchen crew will be rolling out some new cuisine.
Alvaro will be hosting the first ever Rock Chef.
Chris Larson will be hosting an 0fficially judged and scored RC rock crawl for the kids, big and small.
I am pretty sure the Tequilla Bandito will be there taking bounty on your liver!
I hear there is wine tasting to benefit the Rubicon Trail (lets smoke a cigar too), and
I am pretty sure we will see a raffle beyond comparison!

Basically, all your TLCA friends will be there, having a great time! I know Cindy and I will be.

See you there!

Funny how those kind of rumors get started! I look forward to finally meeting Bill Smith as I've heard he's more awesome than the Dos Equis dude! :D

Me and 3 or 4 other Tarsand Toyota members plan on coming down for this. This will be all of our firsts to rubithon. We are bringing my HDJ81, possible FJ cruiser, and a huge FJ45( rob rutledges old truck), and none of us are worried about damage.

I look forward to seeing all you guys and gals, hope to drag along one of my teenagers and maybe the wife...

Really look forward to meeting so many of you guys after all these years and catching up with the gang I already had the luck to hang out with...

Going to be a epic gathering and ride

PS, use to own Radd Cruisers, no longer affiliated...or own..
