These are Wrangler Rubicon take-offs. They have some miles on them, but the price was right!

They're LTs, so the ride is definitely a little firmer. I prefer it, actually. They're definitely louder than the street tires I had on there. I may look into some spray-on sound deadening for the wheel wells, if that's actually effective. Then again, this GX is sparingly used, so I'm not overly concerned.

No rubbing at all. Might be some under articulation and full lock, though. I'll investigate. Yes, the running boards will need to go.

You need to move "up north". Those tires would be perfect for snow. Narrow tires work very well in sand also.
(Oh oh! is this the start of a debate?)

Places I am not moving: "up North." :D

Just measured: Ground to fender lip - 35" front, 37" rear (measured at center of wheel hub). This is useless info until someone posts up what their stock GX is ;)

I'm not expecting much lift from these tires, of course. Just curious. Planning to go with an adjustable coil up front and probably just trick the rear airbags. I don't need more than 1.5" additional clearance for what I will do with this vehicle.

They look good...seems like a lot of the rubicon guys take these off as there are quite a few sets on CL in my area. Wonder why?

To put on bigger tires, of course! Stock is just a starting point for lots of guys.

Well duh.....:bang:. I didnt know if the tires were crap or not. Years ago I had an Infiniti M35 and the stock tires were s***ty so a lot of folks swapped them out for a same size/better suited tire.

I think the consensus is that the Goodyear MT/Rs are better tires overall, but BFG MTs can be found for cheap if you look on Craigslist. All told, I wound up actually making a few bucks by selling the Toyos that were on the GX and the Wrangler wheels.
