1. stock tires are 275/70R16
2. you would need new rims for 245/75R16 - they won't fit on an 8" rim. As far as I know 6.5" rims are not available in the USA (and the tires won't be that cheap anymore if you will have to purchase also a new set of rims)
3. why would you buy MT/R tires for a mallcruiser? I thought you love your wife

Samo, 245s do fit on 16x8. In fact that's the factory tire-rim combination for the TJ Rubicon.

My 100 has 265/70's its a 1999.
I am going to decline on the Mtr's as they are too skinny and the mt design is not suited for mall terrain.

Someone put the wrong size tires on your truck, check your doorjam and owners manual, 275/70/16 is the factory fitment.
This is a mall cruiser, it doesn't go off road? If that is the case, stick to an all season tire, they will handle signficantly better than an A/T tire. The OEM Michelin LTX M/S is hard to beat. Michelin also makes a newer tire that appears to be the replacement for the M/S, it is the Cross-Terrain. Both are in the $150-160 per tire range. Bridgestone makes a Dueler H/L that is a good all season, $151 per tire. Finally, if your budget is tight, Check out the yokahama Geolander HT/S at $100 per tire.
Personally I cannot recommend Goodyear (consistant quality issues and their tires have very short treadlife), Dunlop (very short treadlife), or tires from the the small manufactures. Tires are the final step between you and the road, starting, stopping & turning. Finding out your tires let go abrubtly or the sidewall rolls under during an accident avoidence manuver is not fun and potentially dangerous. Additionally, in my experience, the better made tires wear more evenly, last longer, and stay in balance better than cheap ones.

That's true. For street use wide rims are better. For offroad use I prefer narrow rims - to prevent dirt and sand getting between the tire and the rim at low tire pressure.
Regarding tire quality: I didn't know Goodyear had quality issues. What kind?
New interesting A/T tire will be Michelin 4x4 A/T (will be sold in Europe next year - but something simmilar you allready have in US - alhough not exactly the same). But I don't think this tire will be available in sizes that you guys prefer in the US

I put LT285/75-16 Bridgestone Revos on my '02 last night. They ride a little stiffer than the factory Michelins, but they handle much better. No rubbing at all at full lock in either direction. I searched the forum before purchasing and many mudders are running this tire on their 100s. I got them at the Firestone store, and they undersold the internet. I bought five tires: three at regular price, the fourth free and the fifth at 10% off.
Do a search for Revos on the forum, and see what others have said about them. One last thing... get a LT sized tire (LT265/75-16 - stock-height or LT285/75-16 - taller than stock by about 1.5"). The P metric passenger car versions aren't built the same.

could you post a picture? I need new tires my michelins are getting bald.
All the tire dealers in Colorado are pushing the Michellin LTX-M/S which I believe is a great tire for all around conditions, but I was able to talk them into the same price for the LTX-A/T - better snow tire and stiffer side wall according to several magazine articles. I made the decision after hearing reports of 70K out of a set. It depends on your driving conditions, but remember to purchase for what you drive 90-95% of the time and not that 2%.

4x4 A/T has the same thread pattern, but a different sidewall.
Maybe yust because it is produced in a different factory for EU market. I've learned that tires are not always the same arround the wordl - well, at least MT/R's that are for sale in EU are made in USA

I ran BFG M/T 245/75-16s on 8" wide wheels on one of my Discoveries...and it worked fine. I think it might look too small on a 100. 265/75-16 would probably work a lot better...but that's a smokin' deal. I'd love them for an extra set for one of my Rovers.
