Every time I drive the truck or let her sit for the day, the batteries are always dead. I continually am charging them. Even tried with optima batteries (had more issues so went back to wet cell). I've tried to check where the power is drawing but have yet to find the issue. Have checked the altenator (replaced brushes) but eveything looks good. Getting frustrated especially with Canadian winters on the horizon.
Anyone have the same issue with their HJ60 or 61 series???

HELP!

Check your stereo system. Is the converter shutting off?

Start unplugging all "extras" to try and determine where the draw is coming from.

Is it both batteries that are dying or just one?

Welcome to mud.

you should migrate this and any other questions about your hj61 to the international section. there are many people over there with the hj61 and also 24v systems that would probably have a more specific idea of what to look for.

cheers

As Brad asked...is one battery dying, or both?

Do you have an aftermarket converter, or load balancer hooked up?

I am three for three trying to run Optima's on a 24V truck. The only thing I can think it would be is different internal resistances, as one particularly bad set would end up charging almost 3.0V different. Put wet cell back in and the system charged within .2V. This is becoming consistant experience from others I've talked to.

Make sure all your battery cables are in good repair, including the one to the frame. Replace them if you are not sure.

You do want to replace your batteries in matching pairs.
