I am getting ready to order some 30 round magazines and wanted to extend the offer given to me. The cost is $14.50 ea and we would split the shipping. These are Mag Pul magazines for the .223 caliber which go for $19.99 each.

There are no shooters in this club?

There are many shooters in this club. Just not many with .223's it appears.

I see, I have had an LR-308 that I shoot but the Cheap AR Uppers got my attention since I wanted a cheap one to play with.

.223 to .22lr

Actually, I have a m4gery, but I've got the Ciener conversion bolt in it, so I'm running .22lr currently. Found that .223 is just too expensive still for plinking.

Found magpul poly mags with the view window at 17.05 each if you're interested, free shipping. or 14.20 for the standard polymags.

Well sheesh I just saw this... I'll take some you can't have too many Magpul mags... I'll take 5 in black, no window (don't like shiny things on the AR) ;)

Some time a wheeling - plinking event would be in order. Somewhere we can get out to about 200 - 300 yards would be nice.

BTW tony which 308 do you have? I've been seriously considering a 308 AR but the LMTs are a little spendy.

My LR-308 is a DPMS... spendy is right

So what did you do with the old one? :hhmm:

I heard that SF just adopted 6.8 as their new round of choice. This should make round availabilty less of a problem for a nice cartridge that not too many people are shooting yet. Also means surplus is not too far downm the road.

Been thinking about a 6.8 for a while but ammo availabilty has been a concern.

In the meantime, I'll keep playin with the AK instead.

I ordered the mags last night from 44mag.com, thanks tucson_sailor

nice catch bman, i meant 6.8

I wasn't sure because the 6.5 Grendel is another fantastic round that suffers from ammo shortages and high costs because of it's "exculsivity".

I've never shot the 6.5 but form what I read it out performs 7.62 NATO in pretty much ever area. I just can't see dropping the coin for a "custom" gun shooting "custom" loads that aren't readily available.

Hell if money were no object I'd have a DTA SRS in 338 and go shoot the s*** out of it at 1200 plus yards all day long. But alas, I'm a broke ass who likes to shoot on the cheap.

Yup

That is what they make 22's for?

Which is why my AR-15 currently has the ciener conversion bolt in it, that allows rimfire 22lr in my nominally .223 AR. Much cheaper, and don't have to go hunting for any brass for reloading.

Also seeing a lot of pistol to rifle conversion adapters for rifles. Going to pickup a few - just to see how well they work. Mostly for bolt action, but I'd be curious how they would work in a semi-auto.

Lots of that going round - conversion kits for pistols, rifles, etc. Now if I could just find a place that has 22lr at a reasonable price......

Mags

I'm a bit of a gun nut as some know have about 50 or 60 AR mags try AR-15/M-16 Mags
magpuls are good mags but some of the ones at CDNN for $9.99 free shipping on orders over $200 are hard to beat

Hear ya there. I keep wanting to pickup one of the AR-10 lowers that use the HK mags - I've seen those as low at .99 each for .308 nato in aluminum, and 1.97 for steel. Could stock up on a lot of those.
