SOLAROS is hosting its 20th annual Southern Appalachian Expedition (SAE) at Wind Rock Park in Oliver Springs TN September 13th – 15th.

Trail rides on Friday and Saturday with a catered BBQ dinner Saturday evening followed up by an Auction with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

More information about SOLAROS (Southern Land Rover Society) and the Southern Appalachian Expedition event can be found at their website (www.sae-solaros.com) or their Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/SOLAROS). Event registration includes primitive camping Friday/Saturday, T-Shirt, BBQ Dinner Saturday night, Wind Rock Park trail map, Event Sticker and free 2014 SOLAROS membership.

SOLAROS is a great group of off-road adventure enthusiast and are very accepting of non-Land Rover owners and vehicles. My wife and I have been members of the club for the past 3 years and we own an Xterra (wife’s truck) and an FJ Cruiser (mine). Their SAE event is a great event and has helped out with donating over $80,000 to Habitat for Humanity and other Northern Georgia local charities since 1994. This year we have decided to try a new location for our event and since many of us enjoy Wind Rock, we wanted to introduce this wonderful location to others who may not have had the pleasure to visit it yet (as well as provide others with a reason to come back and enjoy the park).

Being a current FJ Cruiser owner and a long time FJ40 Enthusiast (my dad owned one back in the early 70’s in Southern California when I was growing up, as well as I owned a 71 FJ40 in the early/mid 90’s and really would like to get another one), would love to see some FJ’s come out and join us.

Thanks

Charles
