Trying to figure out the shifter design for my 203 rangebox. I figure that I need at least three levers to bee cool so I am askin for help. Anyone with pictures of how they set up their shifters would be appreciated.

Actually, if you have a splittcase and an auto (non stock) I would love to see the setup as well.

Thanks!

Mace

I have started a thread about this and laos check my thread about shift patterns....Toy350 posted some cool linkage pics there...if he is cool with it I will attach them here,,,

I just finished making a plate that has a pivot on the side that bolts to the 203...I will try and snap a pic but please don't laugh at my welding skills...I am just learning and it is not structural piece of equipment...

Post away on the linkage pics no problem!

Mine was a one of kind custom setup, works great for me but kind of hard to explain to duplicate. I still haven't been able to get a boot for 3 sticks out of the stock hole though.

I enjoy threads where Gumby posts now that his avatar is back :D

I have the plate for the 203, but the shifter mounting is the PITA....

Mace,

If you look at where the shifter is mounted on the 203 I removed that and made a plate with some angle welded on and added a new pivot like TOY350 did...I am out the door to work but will try and post a pic when I get home in the morning if I ma still awake enough...

Looks like this
Nope, the rangebox is a chevy 203 with a ford round pattern drilled into it.

Ferds shift on the DS, Chevies shift on the PS..

Tim, where did your shifters come through the floor? Unless your TH400 is a lot shorter than the 700R4 then they'd come up though the center console.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

The 203 shifter comes up just in front of my tuffy and the other shifters.....well I don't know yet since i am still workin one that portion...damn work and the rain has gotten in the way of that project...I hope to get back on it Friday if all goes well...I hope to be able to post pics friday night...

Any chance we could get a wider angle shot??? Like how it all mounts to teh tranny??

My shifters are all connected to the x-member which is solid mounted to the 465-203 adapter. The x-member uses motor mounts at the frame. Its all under the truck now and much harder to see.
