Hello Toyota Friends! I am a huge Toyota enthusiast, I also am a sales manger at a Toyota dealer. I recently got a 2020 AG TRD PRO. I am just looking for some input on this SUV and some recommendations on mods. I am awaiting my Gobi Rack and Ladder. I am considering a lift just not sure where to go with that one..

If you just want bigger tires ?? you don't really need a lift as long you are willing to replace the wheels also. The right offset is the key. 315/70/17 works just fine with no contact at all. If you really insist on a lift , you have few great options form Dobinsons, Kings, and maybe few more that I don't know.
Congratulation and enjoy spending the money. Don't for get to post some pics after please.

You got specs on the wheels?

Congrats on buy!

Suspension - wise I’m a cult believer in Icon now with my 6” lift I’m converting the chachi lift to real Icon parts - ride quality is nite & day.

My Rock Warrior springs were a joke.

Sorry Mr. Toyota, but the rock was in my kidneys & the warrior was how much I hated them coils.
No articulation, as a good starting point - pavement princess spring/shocks stock.

Evo Corse 17"x8
ET 40

Was that you or the dealer that put those 17’s on?

I just looked at the 2020 brochure & it says 18” forged BBS’s ............

pg6 says it, pg7 is a fullsize shot w/ the 20” optional BBS .
(no claim to forge or cast on 20’s)

pg23 shows either a 18” or 20” BBS optional on 2020 TRD Pro trim, so 17’s seem like aftermarket - am I right?

And the Fox shocks sure look nicer than what Rock Warriors got - esp w/ that IRS I bet you could flex it to some degree.
Maybe?

I installed the wheels,,, from Mainline Overland.
The Fox do look nice but on Sequoia there is not much travel. The IRS in the back does give a better ride then my Tundra but if I have to choose one for light off road ?? Tundra is way better.

Interesting you’d pick the Tundra - I like the locking transfer case of the Seq & thought the IRS was supposed to flex decently, esp compared to the leaf springs of the Tundra.

I haven’t driven a Sequoia off-road at all, so I’m talking out my a$$ on them - I just figured the IRS had to beat leafs & the solid axle config.

Just in case anyone may like the idea,, I removed the oem rack and I just installed a short Front Runner rack on top. I like the oem rack but not how long is.
I ordered a set of universal tracks and four feet. Drilled the holes in the tracks so it match the oem holes. The top rack is a used one that I use on the GX 460 as well.
I am working on installing a swing out tire arm. The 315/70/17 does not fit under anymore. I will post some pics when done.

This is the offset I’m after, no less than +35. Any pics down the side before the flares went on? Not many Sequoias with this wheel offset and I’m getting eager to make a purchase.

Did you have any other wheels you were considering before you went with the Evos? Looks great!

Sorry Bud, no pics from before but I can tell you that they where sitting flush with the body. The wheel was pushed out a little bit more then 1"
Now the flares are sticking out more then 1" past the tire. Keep in mind that these tires Yokohama 315/70/17" run a little bit narrower then the Ko2 that I had before.
I never looked at another option because these wheels where installed on a Tundra with a Pro suspension and it worked great with out touching. I didn't want to start choping on the new truck. Yet.

Question for you: Did you/ do you have any clunking sound under your vehicle, like from the skid plates or the front coilovers? I just picked up a white 2020 trd pro sequoia and I get a mild knock/clunk underneath me when turning from a dead stop. It doesn't happen all the time. Dealer already looked at once and said it was the skid plate grinding on the cross-member, and they "fixed" it with spacers, but it's still doing it. wondering if you've experienced anything like this. I've also heard there is a TSB out for the 2020 fox shocks, at least for the 4runners that involve a replacement due to the struts coming into contact along the side with the springs in the front.

Thanks.

I did have the spacers on the skid installed. within few months. No other major noise yet but I have one of those bad habits when I get a new car. I just lift the car on jacks and I spend a good half hour under checking all the bolts and hand tight them. Frankly , I don't know if it makes any difference but it just gives me a pace of mind. I would look at the torsion bar or or remove the skid and check the differential bolts also. I looked at my friend Tundra Pro and My 2007 Tundra. Both trucks are put together much better then my 2020 Sequoia
My Tundra is 11 years old and I don't hear the noise that the Sequoia makes. I hear scratching noise from the windshield, from the dash and the rear hatch is ready to loose one side molding. The boys from Indiana are very close to Detroit and is probably easy to get contaminated.
I am stuck with it for few years but to be honest ,, for a 65 k's truck, I am not happy with the assembly quality.
