I get in my black on black 200, with dark tinted windows in this Florida heat and the only things that are scorching hot are my sunglasses in the cupholder and the fakeass wood on the steering wheel. This is due to both of those items being in the direct afternoon sun through the un-tinted part of the windshield.
Other than that, black doesn't initially feel any hotter than other color combos I have been in.

I was pretty annoyed when they ditched the ivory interior the Terra color just doesn't work for me so I had to get black leather. My current Highland Limited Platinum has the black leather and it has driven home the fact I will need a windshield cover to block out the heat and I will tint the front windows of course in NYS you can only go 24% tint or it won't pass, so I will go 20% to stay in the line. Just waiting on the delivery date from the port.

Ceramic tint — even if you get clear film — will greatly reduce the heat and UV.

Same. In North Florida as well and can say the black interior on my 2017 does not feel any hotter than the tan that was in my 2014.

I cant stand black leather in a Land Cruiser, its just not right. I cant believe they dont offer some lighter color interior like tan or gray.

They went from tan or gray in 08-11, to tan or black in 13-15, to dark brown/black or all black for 16+. WTF?

I also am a part of the "anti-black" vote. Gray/Tan/Beige...as well as the versions of Red that are currently in the LC and/or Lexus 570 are all fine with me. Just not the real Black...slate gray is OK. Not that Toyota cares TomR

I love my black interior! The 2018 Terra looked too red for me in person. Additionally, coming from a guy cruising the scorching Nevada desert. 30% tint all around and then a clear ceramic UV film over the windshield is a lifesaver. No more scorching sun on your arms and face as you drive into the sun.
