We will make next year's schedule before the Christmas parade and all are welcome to come to lunch at Kicken Chicken in Mt Pleasant. If you can't make it, please give us input on activities.

The big activities we want to include:
  • Apr/May, Lowcountry boil
  • May, GSMTR
  • Sep, ONSC's Logan Run
  • Dec, Christmas parade
Other past activities with flexible dates:
  • HAMOMs
  • Hurricane Creek and/or Richmond Road
We want to be inclusive to families, also spouses who don't camp. The trifecta of presidents (ONSC, UC, and LCLC) want to do more activities with all 3 clubs. Thoughts? Opinions?

Or we can start a new thread for 2017

I am flat out looking forward to coming down for the boil this year and maybe a few others. So many of you guys have been wonderful in support of us and I hope we can do the same in return.

Fixed it for you

Kids basketball season and CFB season seem to fill in the rest of the year nicely. :flipoff2:

Maybe we can squeeze in a few socials around the Low Country....
  • Lunch on a Friday?
  • how about a Sunday Brunch downtown Charleston - I will run point on this (OK, Trina will) in the spring.
  • BEACH DAY ! OK, that would suck compared to Amelia Island, but it was an idea.

We could go up to my parents lake house also. Close to Summerton on a finger off of Lake Marion.
We could go boating (motor or canoe/kayak). Fishing, or just hang out.

I like the idea of Friday gatherings. I was hoping that the bar hopping would take traction, we've had 2 and they were both a lot of fun.

Beach Day sounds like fun. Been here over 6 years and haven't been to the beach once. Haven't been on a boat either. Or fishing. These are things I miss about home...

Barbecues at Randy's. Bring your own meat. Simultaneous Beer swap. Randy has the details on this one.

Mountain biking / hiking.

Relic Run / Relic Run crash for those without Relics.

Looking at 2016 events, are there any we want to drop? I think some events we can combine, like Hurricane Creek and day hikes, possible mtn biking, hit a brewery in top ranked Asheville, etc. Richmond Road is another that was cancelled due to lack of interest, but do we try to do it again? Do we want to do a fund raiser? Do we need one?

Did we ever decide on a calendar of events? Anything going on in January? //crickets//

You may need to define the "we", sometimes it means you and the mouse in your pocket! I would love to help but since I'm quite a distance away will have to stay on the sidelines!

"we": An intentionally ambiguous term to solicit any and all to input on the calendar; also asking if any progress was made at the bar after I left regarding the calendar and if not, maybe we can discuss it since January is less than 2 weeks away.

The other alternative is to simply say, "we're meeting at _____ brewery" (that also serves Mountain Dew) and a heavy turnout is guaranteed.

How does this sound... On January 21st, we will meet at 1300 at Freehouse Brewing. Great brewery on the water, good stouts, and we will all pitch in some Mountain Dew for el jefe. After we have had a few beers we will move 2 blocks over to Holy City Brewery. These are my 2 favorite breweries in Charleston and they're pretty close to each other.

Saturday, 1/21, sounds good to me. An alternative (or addition to the 1/21 meeting) is to just take the 2016 calendar and make it 2017 as a starting point. Then we can just add or delete events while leaving most alone.

I'm good for the 21st.

That's what David and I discussed. Start with the 2016 calendar and make adjustments.
