Haven't found anything online. Itching for a truck again and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the 2015 Tacoma's. If there will be major changes, I think I will wait to purchase. With GM stepping up with a diesel mid-size pick up, it will be interesting to see how Toyota responds. I doubt they will go diesel, but at least a new gen makeover to compete. I'm hoping for better MPG mostly.

Unfortunately a little birdie told me that the likelihood of a Toyota diesel coming to the US is next to impossible. You can thank the CARB standards and a handful of other stupid government agencies for that. Basically just not economically viable for such a small piece of the marketshare.
Is heard rumor that they were putting a diesel in the Tundra?
Do tell... I only ask because I am pretty sure my source got it from the head of Toyota NA. The HINO diesel that was at the SEMA show last year was just for the show.
Edit: I re-read my response and realize it could come across wrong. I didn't intend that to sound as A-hole'ish as it might. I was legitimately wondering where you heard that at.

VW/BMW/Mercedes/Audi/Porsche all have no problems importing diesels. I love Toyota, but they could easily bring diesels into this country if they wanted to.
