Just looked, and my last post was 10 years ago when I sold my 80 : (. My son would kill to have it back, but here we are. Wanting to find an awesome rig for son who's off to college in CO this year.

Could someone point me towards pros/cons of 460's in that '15 to '17 range? Anything to look out for? I know this may be common sense, but I've been out of the Toyota club for a while (lest you count my wife's hybrid Camry).

As far as drive, there have been no changes to the entire GX460 life span. Same motor, trans, diff's, brakes, etc.
Most all the changes have been cosmetic, aesthetics, consumer comfort.
So the short answer is any year you get, it'll be reliable and rock solid. It will only depend upon mileage and service maintenance of whatever you look at.

Love my 2015 Base model. Had a great service record with some dents and dings from an absent minded soccer mom. It's a beast.

Nice looking truck! I like the color. Good to hear you're happy with base. I probably won't hold out for comfort.of nav packages then. I'll try to prioritze overall condition and milage

Follow up question (may need to be a new thread). The 4 switches to the right of the shifter... is one of them AVS? Someone said the high spec suspension could be a failure point, or complicate a lift (down the road). True?

If you have 4 switches you probably have the air ride. It's not a huge deal to convert to coils. That being said, I specifically sought a base model. Had it for 3 years, wheel multiple times a week and just starting to get a little steering and bushing slop.
