Glad were not out in the desert right now; wind is blowing about 30 with gusts to 50 and rain expected. Hoping it's all moved east and drying out by Monday.

I'm not much of a cook but I can bring a couple of jugs of ale from Colorado Boy Micro Brewery and some sausage we can grill to keep with the bbq theme.

updated the first post. Looking forward to it. yum!

Just looking at the weather for tomorrow and it does not look good. Due to a busy work schedule I was not able to make the drive from TX to Ridgway until tomorrow. I plan to leave early and should be able to at least make it to Salida. Will have to evaluate Monarch Pass when I get there. Wish me luck.

Another option would be to stay south and aim for Durango. If I am going to have to stop at least Durango would be a 100 miles closer to Ridgway than Salida. But then I would face 550 up through Silverton andOuray early Monday. Will need to make that call when I get to Amarillo around early to mid-afternoon. If any of you guys are watching the weather tomorrow and have any suggestions I will check the forum when I get to Amarillo.

Arrived at the meeting point, now go shopping in Grand Junction. Going back there for the night. Phone 7075099348

Awesome FJ40. Hope the weather holds up! I hope to leave ASAP after work tomorrow. Been scrambling to install new drawers, swap out tires and reinstall sliders AND pack. Whew. LogHill. Good luck!!!! Weather has been better today. Still chilly.

Not too many days ago the forecast for here was better but still not bad, just a few degrees cooler but still climbing to low 80s by Sat.

I plan to be arriving around 3 pm. Will search you out FJ 40.

Dan good luck getting here but don't take any chances. If you miss the start take i70 and get off at the Westwater exit and go to Fish Ford. Not sure if that's the correct exit and all my maps are out in the FJ. Call me tomorrow if you need directions.

Weather was a non-factor. Chilly and a few fllurries but did not impact my trip. Made it all the way to the house. Seem to be a problem with the furnace in that it will not come on so a little chilly tonight but not bad. Will try to get someone out to look at it next week.

Ace, I'll join you guys as soon as I get get all my gear together and get up there.

CB and 2M channels? 34 and 146-460?

Hello All
We made it Grand Junction last night but I had to drive through the storms without wipers. I think my wiper motor needs to be re-wound.
Anyone have a suggestion for an auto electric shop in the area?
Thanks
Peter

Give Safari Ltd. or Metric Off-Road a call. Hopefully one of them can squeeze you in. And they are very familiar with 40s. That would be the contact for a possible replacement.

For a rewind give Stout's Electric Motor Services a call.

Besides being a bit cool the first couple of days it's going to be pretty windy. Today 20-30 mph and Tuesday 10-20. If your tent camping get some really big tent stakes. The wimpy little guys that come with most tents will be useless. Sportsmans Warehouse and Cabelas will have some HD stakes. Both are located on Hwy 50 near the west end of GJ.

FJ 40 and anyone else arriving early, try and find a sheltered camp area. As you drive south on the main road there are two areas up the hill on the right that should give us some protection from the wind.

See y'all soon.

Ace

We are at camp now. Come south thru the parking lot and follow the Book Cliff Cruisers signs about a 1/4 mile on the right. Coordinates are 39.17599 109.02232. We moved to Rabbit Valley Camp Ground.
