2013 is going to be here before we know it! Where do you want to go?

My wishlist.

-Snow Run! Hugh?

-San Rafael Swell (April 12-14) Best date for a couple people, what do you think?

-White Wash (day or overnight). I was there this weekend with the Subaru. INCREDIBLE! Baja terrain only an hour and a half from GJ.

-Cruise Moab (May 1-5th)

-Overland Expo (May 17-19)

-FJ Summit (July 17-21)

-All-4-Fun Week (July 28 - August 24)

-Annual Ouray Trip Similar dates as last year.

-Happy Canyon, Poison Springs, Arch Canyon. The first was proposed by Jim Wilson. I would like to see all three in a long weekend!

-Something in the central mountains in July

-Death Valley

Jonathan, your wish list just about mirrors mine. Susie and I are going to California during Xmas to visit the in-laws, just so happens that Death Valley is not to much of a detour so we will be spending about 3 days there.

I will have to decide between CM or the Expo won't be able to do both, I'am leaning towards the Expo at this moment.

April 12-14 for the swell works for me, interested in the White Wash area, never been there before.

On the fence about the FJ Summit, may want to go to All For Fun instead.

Other places/trips I want to do:

The Maze, White Rim and stuff around the Needles District.

Exploring indian ruins and petroglpyhs. Ghost towns.

Escalante/Grand Staircase.

North Rim of Grand Canyon outside of park.

Maybe I could lead a run through the Pyeatt Draw in Payson, AZ when you guys come down for the expo. Would be a good day run with nice camping if anyone is interested....google this place, pretty cool.

All-4-Fun Week is July 28 to August 24 and I'll definitely be going to my 6th one. Best event I go to. This year it's in Leadville and I plan to go from here, or maybe from the Summit, to Leadville via as many trails and passes as I can link together.

Also plan on Cruise Moab, OEX and somewhere in the desert in October. The FJ Summit is clouded by the fact it never changes and I probably won't go again unless there are some changes, like new trails.

I'm hoping BCC will get to run the Koko for Cruise Moab as discussed in another thread. Good way to get to CM13.

For those planning on going to OEX I'm suggesting we do it like New Mexico Backroads and other groups have in the past, and go by dirt as much as possible. Enjoyable just to plan a route like that.

I agree with Jonathan on the rest of the schedule. Snow run ASAP.

We did discuss an annual meeting a while back. I'd prefer a meeting in January at some place where we can dine and wine until whenever and then crash in rooms, bunkhouse, barn floor, about anywhere that has some heat and a soft spot (and no drive home). I recall favorable comment about the Electric Light Lodge (?) in another thread here.

We've done both Death Valley (during spring break) and Escalante (Hole in the Rock and then back via the Burr Trail) and would recommend both. Would also like to spend more time on the North Rim after just one trip there, but that's quite a haul from here.

Whitewash is fun, I have been there with the dirtbikes a few times and inevitably end up rallying the FJ on the dunes, she flies pretty good for a brick!

I would really like to do a Maze run and Escalante/Grand Staircase those have been on my list for a while.

Pyeatt Draw sounds excellent, I haven't done any wheeling in AZ.

Snow run was a blast this year, I would definitely like to do another.

Beyond that I am open to any suggestions. The overnighters are appealing to me. Getting up at the crack of dawn and driving down to junction, driving to the trails, wheeling all day and driving back to Glenwood makes for a long day. A night on the trail makes for a more relaxed pace for those of us who are a bit more remote.

The FJ Summit is clouded by the fact it never changes and I probably won't go again unless there are some changes, like new trails.

We are open to suggestions. Any specific trail changes/additions you would like to see? We are in the initial stages of setting up and permitting an overnight run, it may not happen this year but you never know.

Made several suggestions for Silverton area last event and was told "no new trails possible". *

Probably ought to discuss this somewhere else. But that's another problem; too many places like FB, FJCF, Mud, FJS website to talk about it.

*Much of what I said before would still be found on FJCF under 2012 Summit.

Thanks Ace. Let's chat in person.

Great suggestions thus far. I can start compiling things and we can start putting dates on the calendar. I'll bring a paper calendar to the December meeting too.

Keep the great requests coming.

I loved that swell trip last year...would like to do again with your group...maybe cover a little more ground this year...i.e.....earlier starts...is there a way to there from Moab, all offroad? That would be cool....

Yes there are ways. Mostly off road. A bit of pavement but still awesome.

Maybe some of us can meet in Moab and do the backroads to the Swell....this year.

That would be fun. I have most weekends in December off so I could probably make something happen... assuming we aren't getting any snow. I've got some new ski's that will be demanding my attention if the snow ever shows up.

I was thinking in April...to be part of the already tentatively scheduled Swell trip.....I can only make so many trips up that way a year, haha... Moab and snow does sound tempting though....

Sierras outside Fresno. Dynky Creek area.

CA lost coast.

Nevada Great Basin.

Been to all three but Dynky Creek was about 40 years ago.

A couple of longer expedition type runs I proposed were as follows. Do a trip on as much dirt as possible from here to the Overland Expo near Flagstaff. Also will be doing another mostly dirt trip from Ouray to Leadville (FJ Summit to All-4-Fun). There is a possibility I may not do the Summit this year so then that trip would be from Cedaredge to Leadville. Then there is the possibility BCC may lead the Kokopelli trip to Cruise Moab. The best part of wheeling for me is the multi-day trips of this sort.
