We own a 2011 and a 1999 LC. I'm considering a 2013 and selling the 1999. There are so many in inventory right now that I think I could get a killer deal.

What are your thoughts on the 2013 compared to the previous 200s. We've driven the 13 LX570 but don't feel the extra $$ is worth it and I hate bling. The LX also depreciates much faster. I love that no one in the neighborhood knows what a 200 costs new.

Is the leather nicer, wood trim, suspension improved at all? I don't see any 2014 changes so this is probably the time for a deal.

Thanks for your feedback.

Unless you MUST have the latest and greatest tech goodies and cooled seats are huge on your list of priorities, used (08-11) is the way to go. New front sheet metal looks cool but these things are function over form. Hell, I even bought an "undesirable" color because I got a smoking deal on a very lightly used '08 ($40k for 60k mi). They are out there if you're patient plus, dealers are borderline clueless on trade vs. retail values. Good luck!

I would agree withe what Dave said.....although I am a junkie geek lol.

all "advantages" for the 2013 are pretty much cosmetic as far as I know, unless ya count the 2 extra speeds in the "crawl mode"... The suspension, drivetrain etc are all exactly the same!!! Basically the 13 model has a fancier interior, some new sheet metal and some camera's... If you can get a 13 for a screaming deal the extra's are nice, but if your looking for some real tangible differences for the extra cash, I don't think you'll find them, just my 2 cents..

Guys
I am very familiar with what is different but do any of you have a 2013. I'm not looking to upgrade but to add another 200 to the family.
I read an interview with the land cruiser designer that said the suspension was updated slightly. Wanted opinions of owners.
It's either another 200 or a GL350. Not looking to start a debate.

Well from these comments you seem to have your answer. You know the differences. There is obviously a big difference between the 200 and the GL350.

So I have no idea what answer you are looking for.

I don't know of any suspension upgrades to the 2013. Since we don't seem to be answering the way you want. Might want to call your local dealership and ask them.

:bang:

Better yet, just go drive one yourself. That should pretty much answer all your questions. I seriously doubt you'll notice a difference in ride between your '11 and the '13 but you never know.

GL cannot do what an LC can regardless of what year.

Yup..... but maybe he doesn't need/want the capabilities of the LC. Seems he already has a few.

Good point.

Test drove the 2013 today. As suspected its exactly the same as the 2011. Wife liked the white with sand stone interior we saw and we're negotiating. There's a lot of stock around the country and I have not problem traveling. If we can find the right price we'll add a third LC to the stable.
The GL is a great highway cruiser. It doesn't have the capabilities of the 200 but it would serve a different purpose. Who can argue with 25mpg.
