Team LC200, recently installed aftermarket full led headlights (not just led bulbs). Here’s my brief…

Toyota Landcruiser VX 4.7l petrol with factory halogen headlights. Installed aftermarket full led headlights (the whole headlight unit replaced, not just bulbs) They work perfectly without the led driving lights (spot lights) plug and play harness connected. When the driving lights plug and play harness is connected everything works EXCEPT the left headlight high beam. In brief, Without spotlight plug and play harness headlights high and low beam work correctly - no issues. With plug and play spot light connected the left high beam does not work. Low beams are ok, right high beam ok, spot lights work ok. With spotlight switch in car off (spot lights off) high beam works on right headlight but not left. All else works as per normal. Spotlights are wired through relay (12v/40A) and inline fuse via a dash switch to either have spotlights on when high beam selected or not on when high beam selected. The issue is the left headlight high beam does not work when the spot lights plug and play harness is connected. And why is this? Happy to explain further as required.

Headlight upgrade came with plug and play harness for the factory halogen high/ low beam plugs. No modification required. The spotlights wiring and harness would be the only demi modification but was also plug and play also connect into the factory high and low beam plugs. Spotlights were installed over six months ago and worked correctly with the old factory halogen headlights. Therefore are not new.

thoughts and comments welcome.

I don’t have any answer for your question/issue

But myself, and several others here have had various issues with “plug snd play” harnesses for the light conversion and none of them anyone has found are true “plug and play”

Thanks for your reply, agree ‘PnP’ harnesses play a part. Just did weird thing is everything bar the one issue I have works and that’s doing my head in.

Starting with basics, Going to test voltages to the high beam plug (and other plugs in the PnP harnesses) to determine if any drop somehow.

Threw a pic of my rig with new h/lights in because everyone loves pics 😎🤘

Closing the loop. In the end, as with suggested advice and some trial and error, I fuse tapped the spot/driving lights into the High Beam fuse and plugged into the wiring harness with inline fuse and relay supplied with the spotties. (Installed a better looking dash switch also)

Works a treat and now my rig lights up half the country with both new led headlights and spotties blazing. Dash switch allows deactivation of spotties on high beam if required.

Cheers
