Ok folks, add me and my girlfriend to the list as a proud owner of a 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser.

I have been watching the Land Cruiser and considering one since it was released in late 2007. I just like the overall design from what I have seen and heard. I have not had a new vehicle since we bought our 2004 Land Cruiser in early 2004.

A while back, I put in a request with my dealer that if he can get a new 2011 model I would consider buying one. I told him what my budget was and how much I would be willing to pay and that ideally I would like a black one (I have never owned a black vehicle). I also said that if he can get me one, I would pay cash for it.

So the phone call came last Thursday, that he has a black one. I told him done deal. Only issue is that I would have to accept a few dealer add ons as a deal fell through right when the paperwork was about to be signed just before delivery to the customer. No charge for the add-ons and its mine if I can pay cash ASAP.

So, I got a 2011 Toyota Land Crusier, black on oak.

included was:

-paint protection film
-under carriage rust protector

I asked to add on front tinted windows (which I had to pay for) and an extended warranty

I don't have it yet, my gf picks it up tonight as it will be ready this evening. I wish I could go but I have a work seminar.

I will give driving impression soon.

Congrats and welcome to the club! You'll love it.

Top of the list is OME springs and shocks + new rims and tires. For less than 3K she'll be ready for almost anything minus rock climbing. = D

Ok, ok, I might add Total Chaos upper control arms too... ok maybe skid plates...

awesome! Congrats.

Let the mods begin!

Well we finally got her home. My gf picked it up after everything was taken care of by the dealer.

I haven't driven it yet, but let me get this out of the way before I give my thoughts on the interior and body. The woman already has her phone set up, mp3 attached and memory for seat button #1.....I guess she is going to be driving it.

Ok, so my initial impression of the interior. I only looked it over for a little bit late last night. The gf has it right now. Overall an outstanding improvement over my 2004 Land Cruiser. Let me be clear, I have never really loved my 2004 as I don't drive it. The 2004 is a good vehicle but I just found it to luxurious or nice inside. The new 2011 feels a lot more work-oriented (which is good) and less luxury oriented.

The overall layout of the centre stack is amazing. Exactly what I wanted. The temperature controls for the driver/passenger remind me of the LS430 layout I once had. The faux steering wheel wood is fine. Reaching all the controls and stuff seems very easy (I have not driven it yet so I will update that later).

Second row seat is good. I got the upgrade package which includes a digital cooling air conditioning for the rear seats and heated seats which is pretty cool.

I am also glad the Land Cruiser still has the lift up/fold down hatch.

There are some things I could do with out. Cooling box in the centre console is a waste IMO, and the console box is small. I don't need the rear DVD player and tv, the third row seats are probably the dumbest idea ever implemented on the land cruiser line. They should be able to be removed (I will eventually remove them)

Overall I like it! I will give some driving impression once I get my hands on it :D

Congrats on the new ride. I've had mine for 2 months now and we are loving it.

Pretty funny... All the stuff you dislike, we like and use. I've got kids so we use the dvd and the rear seats alot. The counterbalance on the third row seats is fantastic, makes it so easy that when looking at cars it was more convenient than electric seats on the Sequoia and GX460.

Give the cool box a try. We initially thought of it as a gimmick, but my wife uses it all the time and even puts things from the store in it so she doesn't have to come straight home.

Enjoy.

So you get a new car, don't go get it but let your girlfriend get it, then get in it and don't drive it, but instead take the time to provide a review of the interior (which you apparently never saw before either). You also spell center funny. Something is not adding up.

What kind of loser makes up stuff about Land Cruisers.

- own a 2004 cruiser don't drive it cause it's too nice
- buy a new one sight unseen girlfriend brings it home to you then you post on an Internet forum all about the interior before driving it. Right. So stupid.

Claim to be American but don't use American English.

Freak.

When did I claim to be American?

-I have a 2004 Land Cruiser which I am selling to my brother-in-law, I have never really loved it all that much and it is more luxurious than it it is truck like. The soft materails on the lower door panels compared to the plastic on 2011. The individual power rear quarter windows compared to the fixed windows on the 2011. How about the soft padded A-arms compared to pre-2003 100's that were plastic, or the swivel overhead hand pulls compared to the fixed pre-2003 models. I also have a 2003 Tundra, that is my daily driver, I have beat the hell out of it. I prefer it over the 2003 as I throw stuff around in it. I have also like the 4 speed over the 5. As for the 2004. it is underpowered with 225hp thats part of the reason why I never liked it.

-I have also test drove the new generations many times in 2008, , I didn't spend hrs in it. This was the first time I have ever spent any siginificant time in.

-and I can spell centre/center any way I want can't I?

Coincidence?

Perhaps it is coincidence. I just researched Pagemaster, he causes a lot of s***. Don't bring me into, not my problem.

Don't ruin my purchase. Don't rain on my parade.

Strange coincidence indeed especially since you spell 'center' just like Page did.

Either way, congrats on your purchase. Let's see some pics of that bad boy!

Hahaha. Busted Pagemaster. Owned!

Went back to a previous thread about "10 best car no one's buying" that your new handle was prominent in ..... No doubt about it, its got your squirrel prints all over it. So funny. Reading it again I even recall thinking: "Gee is this dude Pagemaster's brother or do they just both live at Wikipedia Avenue?

Anyway, congrats on buying one. But you know the rules: New owners must post pics of their girlfriends. And I'm keen to see her. She must be some special woman if you let her near your new 200 cruiser. Or is it really hers?

Haha, nicely done by you and the other legit members. I was ready to say congrats but looking through his posts it does indeed seem the be the BasementMaster.

He's gone mighty quiet since pictures were asked for, can't buy a truck when you're an intern, eh....very sad.
