Hello everyone,

I have been lurking here for a couple of months since getting my 2011 lx570. Been loving the car. But the last couple of weeks we have started noticing the “check AHC system notification”. Thinking it was the temperature change or something and it was going away once you turned it on and off. But today my wife was saying that it stayed ok and it’s been on. So I went underneath to check it out. Turn it on and off and then I saw the rear driver side was covered in hydraulic fluid. And I was the spraying coming from a hose that look rusted where it was metal. So looking from front to back it’s behind the differential and above it on the rear drive side.

So I saw the diagram on another post but that looked like Chinese to me. I know I need the hydraulic fluid and the hose replaced. At this point might as well do the “globes” too. Any help on finding which line is it. I would appreciate it. I will keep looking on the boards.

The part you are looking for could be:
4899860010 - Height control tube #5

4899960010 - Height control tube #6

or
4898760030 - Height control tube #7

One more question. Any issues driving it for like a week while I get parts?

Don't. The AHC pump can burn out without fluid. You'll be riding on the bump stops with insufficient fluid. I.e. no suspension and no damping which is not safe.

Thank you. I was thinking that the system would just be off and the suspension work as is without it. But makes sense how you described it.

Calculated risk, several years back I drove over 100 highway miles with 8000lbs in tow when my rear line ruptured, got Check AHC system on the display but not sure that stopped the pump as fluid mist kept spraying from the rear, likely from the weight - no damage other than ruptured line and fluid loss - ride was less comfortable but doable, not sure how much fluid was lost as AHC ECU ideally should have shut down the pump, closed system control valves and gates but I’m not sure it did. Bump stops are there to protect components like shocks, springs and other suspension. Pump lasted another 9 years after that incident - so I tend to believe 200 is designed to survive total loss of AHC pressure and still get you back home safely. Car was out of warranty but Lexus covered parts - common problem - labor was expensive around 1500, it is a tough line to replace and without major trickstery it requires to slightly lift the body on the frame.

Got a quote today from my local Toyota dealership to replace to do the job for under 1k

Ended up getting my local Toyota dealership doing it. They did an inspection first and the quote was about 996.00 + inspection. I ended up paying 1070 got a 10% discount. They said it took them about 5hrs of labor due to the rust. I’m not mad about it. Now I do have to wash the bottom from the previous spill. Also have to do front / rear diff, spark plugs and they recommend a transmission flush which I won’t do but that’s for another thread.
