2011 GX460 Non-ML Pioneer Amp - replacement options? (1 Viewer)

Hey all,

I haven't gotten around to posting a introduction yet, but I've been working through several issues with my new high mileage 2011 GX460, and I'm a long time lurker here

I just recently had the Pioneer Amp start to cut out, causing an "Audio Off" message on my display, so I pulled the amp to do a visual inspection of the circuit boards. Turns out some of the tiny circuitry on the larger board at the base of the Pioneer GM-9497zt aka Toyota 86100-60240 was corroded and an attempt to gently clean the corrosion off resulted in the small part basically crumbling away, causing the amp to no longer work at all.

So, I'm trying to weigh out options. Not a whole lot of used Pioneer amps out there with that same part code, and the new ones are really quite expensive.

Questions:
-are there any aftermarket replacement options?
-can the ML version be used as a straight replacement?
-are there any other Pioneer models with known compatibility from other Lexus/Toyota models?
-any shops known to fix failing circuit boards?

Appreciate any and all feedback on this. Please let me know if any other info is needed.

Thanks @r2m! That seems like it would definitely work for my application, provide better sound than OEM + a few upgraded speakers, and costs about the same as a new replacement OEM. Much to consider there.
