Anyone know when dealers are suppose to be getting 2010 FJ's? Every dealer I've called says that they don't know if they are even getting any, and that they're having problems getting 2009's.

Thanks guys.

I think they have stopped production. They lost over 25 billion dollars last year, and expect a huge loss this year as well.

I found this production schedule on another Toyota forum. It is hard to read due to low quality but it shows production in July and port arrivals from August 14 in Portland to August 25 in New York. It looks like this document was from July.

I know that Toyota did not post the 2010 FJ Cruiser on the US web site - it is still the 2009 version with 2009 pricing.

Soon ...

I can't really read the clip&paste you've included in the thread but I spoke with a few dealers in Los Angeles recently and they told me Toyota had stopped production for a while but they've started again and dealers will be getting shipments of 2009 FJ Cruisers in the coming months. Another dealer told me there were only eight 2009 FJ's scheduled to come to all Southern California dealers in total for the rest of the year. Unfortunately, you can't really trust what dealer's tell you, I don't think they are bad people or trying to lie but frankly they don't care that much (as much as we do) about any specific car let alone FJ Cruisers.
This said, 2009 FJ's didn't show up on Toyota's FJ Page until July of this year I think, probably 2010 FJ's won't show up 'till July 2010 (that'd be my guess) and they'll probably sell the 2010 model thru 2011 or until they’re gone. Personally, I'm looking for a good used low mileage 2008. Few months ago I even saw a Bay Area Dealer with a new 2008 that (my local SoCal dealer looked up on his internal Toyota website) and according to my local dealer they had it on their lot for 20 months.
Yeah, dealers will tell you FJ’s are “rare” but this is not a high volume seller for Toyota, it's an image vehicle and just like OPEC they are trying to limit production to firm up the market price. This makes sense; I’d do the same if I were in their position but just keep in mind something else that is also rare – buyers for this vehicle, that’s us!

My $0.02 - Good Luck...

The two reasons I am interested in waiting for the 2010 version is because the engine is rated slightly more fuel efficient (due to dual variable timing?) and the drop of premium fuel requirement/recommendation. I suppose most guys are running regular fuel in their FJs anyway.

Just bought mine last week at Interstate Toyota in Frederick, CO...they are slowly trickling on to the lots. Interstate was the only dealer in CO last week that had any on the lot...

AT, All Terrain and Convenience packages. The engine doesn't require premium fuel anymore and has a little more torque/hp, and slightly better gas milage numbers than previous years. The turning radius is a little smaller too. I've wanted one since I saw the prototype at the car show here. Everything fell into place last week. I gotta say that after two failed experiments (F350 & Outback), it's nice being back in a Toyota truck once again!

The local dealer had both the new dark green as well as a white/white top in stock last week.

Great looking FJ :)

Gracias, amigo...it's nice to be back driving a Toyota!

It was stickered at $30700, and I was able to get it for less than that. My final price won't much matter since I had a trade, and put a bunch of cash down. The dealers aren't giving up much on the prices...there's a lower number of them available this year, now in particular, and demand is high. Good for Toyota, bad for buyers! It may get better in a few months after the initial buying frenzy tapers off, and holiday bills kick in.

Are the pics above 2 different greens or is one dirty and one not dirty? I think 2 different greens, great looking FJs.

I'm guessing different lighting...

I finally got my 2010 this week. Made deal 2 months ago and just got it today. Traded the 07 in and i think it was worth it. Just sounds and acts diff when on the gas even though it is such a small increase in power.

Different lighting. The pic of my truck was taken in the late afternoon, so there was no direct sunlight.
