The officers of LSLC consist of the president, president-elect (VP), and secretary/treasurer. According to our bylaws, we are supposed to have elections of officers every year at the 2nd meeting of the year. So I’m going to put it out there that we have officer elections next month. The way we’ve worked it in the past is, the president-elect from last year would take over as president and we’d elect a new president-elect. For those that don’t know, I’m the current president, Nick Stone is VP and Chris Smith (TinStar) is the treasurer.
Now, that said, here’s my thoughts. Unless he’s changed his mind recently, Nick has expressed in the past that he is not interested in taking over as president, but will be happy to continue to support the club in whatever other role we ask. Also, I’m a firm believer that the office of treasurer should stay with one person until that person either decides to quit, or we decide as a group that that person needs to be removed. It’s too much of a hassle to change all of the banking information from one person to another. We’ve only had two treasurers in the 13 year history of the club. As for me, I’m not trying to quit, I’m giving you an opportunity to get rid of me.
So, think of if you’d like to volunteer or want to nominate someone else. We can talk at the meeting this week if you have questions, or you can send me an e-mail or PM.
