So uh, lots of people were having this issue in this thread, and no one found a solution?

I am having this exact same problem on my 2010 Lexus GX 460. It only happens when the interior is hot. That TSB @Acrad linked does not list the symptom we are having. The screen isn't locking up, it's just randomly changing inputs, forgetting all radio presets, and spitting out the CDs.

There is presumably a root cause to this issue, and if so no one has appeared to solve it yet online? It's for sure not a sticking button. Could it be leaking capacitors in the ECU or infotainment I wonder?

Paging @thebrassnuckles @MrTorgue @machinehead323 @JDUB fab @mikehighlife , are you still experiencing this issue, and if not, how did you solve it?
I was having an issue with volume knob intermittently working. I know it's not the same, but I ran across a thread on clublexus where a guy had similar issues. Turns out all I had to do was re-solder the circuit board on the rear. Seeing as all of your issues are stemming from the lower half I would take it apart and just solder every input. My solder joints were not broken, they didn't appear to be bad, but since I re-soldered every part of the volume area I have not had an issue.

Exerpt from his solution:
I have repaired mine last year, hopefully i remember correctly:
  1. Remove the DVD-unit, you can find instructions here on CL and Youtube.
  2. Remove the screws that hold the front of the DVD-unit in place.
  3. Remove the front from the DVD-drive. (you have to bend some clips a little bit.)
  4. Resolder the volume button with 60/40 solder, do NOT use leadfree solder. That's why it got loose.
  5. Reassemble

Mine is working fine now.

from what i found on other GX boards, the only option is to replace the radio or amplifier, I traded mine in on a 2015 gx a few years ago.

Lol, so just like my OG PS3 and Xbox 360, it's a solder issue. Interesting. Will try this if the issue becomes a showstopper. For now, it only happens on super hot days, which are now behind us until next spring.

Basically. Yeah mine started doing it and it gradually got to the point where it was every 4/5 times it wouldn't work. It's easy to disassemble, so it's you're putting it off cause it appears hard it's quite the opposite. Took me maybe an hour to remove, solder and reinstall.
