The White Trash of the Elwood Chapter
3rd Sorta-Annual Family Reunion
Camp Wohaleto: Telephone, TX
02 to 05 July 2009

Thursday, 02 July

We’ll be settin’ stuff up durin’ the day and gatherin’ ‘round for some drinkin’ once the chores are done. Be servin’ up an evenin’ meal of hamburgers and hot dogs for your eatin' pleasure cooked up on Josh’s new grill that he done built.

Friday, 03 July
Start off the day with a hearty breakfast of eggs cooked to order (keep it simple please), thick-sliced hick’ry smoked bacon, and some biscuits. Coffee, milk, and juice to wash it down.

Practice up on the games for a competitive edge if’n ya like. Maybe a lil’ RC rockcrawlin’. Perhaps a lil’ local sight-seein’ … perhaps just socializin’ with our fam’ly members. Most likely drink some beer. Sort of a free day I reckon.

Be servin’ up a damn-fine, very special, Italian-Type evenin’ meal … specially prepared by Daryl and Sherry (mostly Sherry I'm sure).

And toppin’ off the evenin’ at 1900 hours with the Ultimate, Big-Time, High-Dolly-Llama, White Trash Bingo Tournament. Buck a card/game … 75% payback to winning cardholder. (25% to the house to pay for bingo equipment)

Saturday, 04 July

This will be a LARGE day Folks. A day to remember. Non-stop action throughout the day to tantalize your taste buds, test your skills, try your luck, and raise your patriotic pride.

Tournaments Galore!! White Trash Horseshoe Tournament. White Trash Fishin’ Tournament. White Trash Huntin’ Tournament. White Trash Volleyball Tournament. White Trash Basketball Tournament.

Come early evenin’ we gonna have the judgin’ of the Baker Boys Bar-b-que Challenge Extravaganza. 3 Bakers (Butch, Josh, and Zack) mannin’ their own grills and competin’ for victory … and feedin’ us at the same time. Side dishes of tater salad, beans, and rolls.

Once we done et … time for the incredibly popular White Trash Yard Sale and a 50/50 cash raffle.

And top off the night with the unforget’bly fantabulous White Trash Pyrotechnics Display.

Sunday, 05 July

Start off the day with a hearty breakfast of French toast, pancakes, thick-sliced hick’ry smoked bacon, sausage patties, and sausage links. Coffee, milk, and juice to wash it down.

Driver's Bags

In an effort to reduce last-minute stuff I gotta do, I'm requestin' that all donations to the driver's bags be shipped to The 3X's in advance ... PLEASE!

We gotta start ... got the actual bags ... and I managed to steal a coupla items from work and purchased one custom-made club logo item.

All bags should be identical for all driver's so please send 35 of whatever it is you send.

I NEED HELP ON THIS FOLKS!!

There will be no winch given out this year as a grand prize. :frown:

Finances are tight and I'd rather spend money on thangs that all can enjoy rather than just one lucky winner.

Please remember to bring an item for The Yard Sale. :bounce2::bounce:

For those event newbies ... each attendee is requested to bring one item that would be typically found at a yard sale. Used. Maybe works/maybe not. Somethin' unique. Somethin' fun.

We gather all the items together and then raffle them off. :grinpimp:

Bunk beds in cabins are just matresses ... bring a sleepin' bag, or silk sheets, or whatever, to make up a bed. Bring own towel for the showers.

We've been told that the kitchen is fully stocked for cookin' for big groups so should be set there.

Bring bug spray.

Before JP has a friggin' heart attack:

Directions from DFW Airport to Camp Wohaleto

 Once ya got your ass in the car, follow signs to the South Airport Exit. (Don’t forget to buckle up.)
 Gotta merge left pretty quick to follow the left two lanes to get on 183 East towards Irving and Dallas.
 Once on 183, stay in far right lane and take the first exit which is the President George Bush Turnpike. Go east on turnpike, currently the only option due to construction.
 Ya gotta go thru 4 toll booths … buck a piece. Stay in right lanes at toll booths for cash. Exact change lanes are for 4 quarters only so go to a booth for paper money.
 Take exit to get on US-75 North.
 Take exit number 45 to get on SR-121 North towards Bonham.
 About 33 miles will get you into Bonham and SR-121 North merges into 56 East. At the first traffic light, turn left to stay on SR-121 North.
 Drive 4 miles … passing the Wal-Mart Super Center and the Tractor Supply Company ... to the end of State Highway 121 North and veer left to the stop sign. After makin’ a complete stop … proceed to get on State Highway 78 North towards Durant, OK.
 Drive 4.8 miles and turn right to get on State Road 1396 East. BIG rodeo arena on the right corner and sign says towards Lamasco.
 Drive 2.2 miles and come to flashing red light/stop sign. Turn left to get on State Road 273 East towards Ivanhoe.
 Drive thru Ivanhoe and keep goin’ ‘bout 10 miles or so ‘till ya come to downtown Telephone, TX. Exactly in the middle of downtown, take a right on FM 2029 South.
 Drive for ‘bout 1.5 miles and turn left on FM 409 East. Sign clearly indicates that Camp Wohaleto is in this direction.
 You’re very close now. Ease on down the road 1 mile and you’ll see a very nice white-painted fence on your right with a big friggin’ sign proclaimin’ “Camp Wohaleto”.
 Commence to drinkin’.

For the rest of y'all drivin' in from the West or the South ... pick up the above directions in Bonham on 121 or on 78 North of Bonham.

For y'all drivin' in from the East:

 Come East on Highway 82 like you're goin' to Bonham. You're gonna come upon Exit 686 (Honey Grove, FM100, and TX 34). Keep goin' East on 82 for 1.8 miles to the intersection of State Road 1396.
 Turn right to get on State Road 1396 West. Sign says towards Allens Chapel.
 Drive 9.6 miles and come to intersection of FM 2029 North.
 Turn right to get on FM 2029 North. Sign says Telephone - 6 miles.
 Drive for ‘bout 3.8 miles and turn right on FM 409 East.

Please send me a PM for any other options or clarifications.

Roger posed a good question 'bout bringin' ice chests or not for beer.

Even though they got reefers in the kitchen ... I say bring your own cooler for your beer.

We're tryin' to get an ice storage box with a hun'erd bags of ice as in the past so we can have it right at the camp.

But ... I'm waitin' on word from Josh whether or not we're confirmed on this.

:flamingo:

Don't look good for cell phone coverage at Camp. :frown:
