2008, RHD Land Cruiser 200's Head Unit

Good day,

Just received a fully loaded RHD 2008 Land Cruiser, one that was made for the Japanese market, so obviously the entertainment head unit's functions/OSD are in Japanese (attached)..

Would any one know if there is a way or a CD that can convert this head unit display from Japanese to English?

Otherwise, do you think that by simply changing/plugging an equivalent English Head Unit (one from the UK for example..) would work/display correctly all the functions (Audio, Radio, DVD, TV, A/C, Surroundings Monitoring Cameras, Parking Assist, Cell Phone integration....) ?

The actual navigation part (Maps, Directions...) of the system is not important to me, what I'm looking for is the rest of the controls to be displayed in English

Any and all inputs, suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

That looks exactly the same as the Austrlian display in the "Sahara" model.

If so from memory ( I am overseas on Holiday) the RHS buttons are from the top

There is also a climate control there next to the auto button on the right below the display

There should be a DVD disc reader for the program in the glove box.

If all else fails and you want to get a different unit in your native tongue there was someone from Israel ("Moti", I believe was his name) that had obtained a bezel type of stuff (factory Toyota) which would allow you to install an aftermarket head/nav. unit.

But I would think that it's probably a simple programming that just needs to be performed to change into English. But what do I know?

The JDM radios like the (AX / ZX) will not convert to English. Also you might not be able to actually tune into most of the radio stations as in Japan they tend to use radio channels different then most of the world.
