I've read through several threads found via search. Also checked the owners manual but am still a little confused so I thought I'd ask here. It seems the owners manual recommends towing in "S" 4 to maximize engine braking efficiency. Most of the threads I looked at seemed to indicate something different. I won't be towing near max capacity regularly. My bass boat fully loaded is about 4200 lbs. Is S4 the consensus for towing or would something else be better? The lack of a tow/haul button seemed odd, just want to make sure I'm doing it right!

My interpretation of the instructions in the manual tell you to downshift to slow the vehicle while descending. There are a number of alternate opinions but I’ve never felt a need to shift out of D with ECT Power on except when I need engine braking.
And I have hauled my trailer a fair amount. Some of those tracks have 2 underneath them.
