2008 lx570 ML speakers and bluetooth questions (1 Viewer)

original ML stereo in 2008 LX570. Have carplay via a cd slot mounted Aphqua that plugs into the auxillary headphone jack. ( not elegant, but it does have wireless carplay and works fine). When I just use the factory bluetooth for calls, the speaker is very distorted; much better,but loud when I use carplay( I assume because the call is coming through all the speakers?). Not sure which drivers side speaker covers bluetooth calls, but all 4 of my door speakers sound terrible. Haven't pulled door panels yet, but on my 2003 gx all the speakers needed foam and paper( cones?). I just replaced the speakers on the gx( non Mark Levinson). 2 questions.
Should I repair or replace door speakers?
Which speaker handles bluetooth calls?

All audio sounds bad, or just BT? If all bad, Pull a door panel and see what you’re dealing with. 16 year old speakers should probably be replaced. I’m not sure there would be enough of the cone left to get a new surround glued on and the rear cone support could be shot too.

Mostly bluetooth is muddled, but all the door speakers make noise and not much that is intelligible. Surely the door speakers are not just bass? I’m sure the speaker that is responsible for bluetooth phone calls needs replacing

It is either the center or the left speaker that handles phone calls.
The front door speakers only handle lower frequencies with the midrange and treble being covered by the dash and a pillar speakers.

Thanks, I know I need to repair/replace ; I hate pulling door panels. Pretty sure I have never pulled one and have it go back on 100% like it started
