Im interested!!!!! Please tangent on!!!!!

2 kids, computer time is limited....

We haven't put a lot of miles on the LX since we got it. I know it had 90K service done. Now Im very curious if the AHC fluid has ever been changed. Im guessing probably not.

Its actually throwing codes now, just came on the past week. Jinxed myself!!!!!!! Talking bad about it. So to the Cruiser gods, I do love the LX. Seriously, my kids ride around in that thing and Im thankful its a big tank.

Codes- 1203, 1223, 1241, 1348. Some look like they have to do with ABS stuff, one has to do with battery, and 1348 is a mystery. Im still searching the INTERWEBS at this moment.

Anybody got any info on those codes^^^^^ Crossing my fingers. Going in to the shop next Tuesday.

No surprise to me. I much prefer the driving experience in my old 98 LC over my 2013 LX. Even with 331k on the clock I really wish I'd never sold the LC.

Usually there is a letter at the beginning of an ODBII trouble code. Are these "P" (powertrain) codes? "B" (body) codes? "C" (chassis) codes?

I have an 04 LC and the wife has an 05 LX. I had the Lexus first, it belonged to my mother for 10 years then she sold it to me. Before that, she had a 99 LX for 6 years. So I know the 100 platform pretty well, but mostly from the LX side. When I started looking for an LC for myself I figured, how different could they really be. Well, once I bought mine I realized just how different they are. The LC wins for driving dynamics, it's lighter, steering is way better (Hate VGRS!), and the handling is much more stable/predictable. The LX wins in creature comforts, soft touch materials, ride and overall luxury. LC currently has 108k and LX has 121k, and the LX had new nitrogen globes at 116k which brought the ride back to stock.

This is of course, stock for stock. My 04 is heavily modified now and I love it a ton! But it is nice to steal the LX once in a while and float over the bumps and crank the ML sound system.

I hate to chime in here with more hearsay, but a good friend of mine has a 2001 LC. He would trade for my '98 in a heartbeat, and I would never consider it. When we go wheeling we swap for fun sometimes, but I can't wait to get back into mine every single time. (I really just let him play with the rear diff lock, because I'm not a monster and I don't need all the fun).

I also test drove a 2005 LX, with about 100k less miles than mine. I probably wouldn't trade up unless VVTI was added to equation, but overall I've got a real soft spot for '98/'99s

They are all C codes. ????????? So they are "chassis codes". Learning on MUD. I did not know there were different codes.

Man this is all very interesting. I thought I was crazy to think it,but looks like others share my opinion.
