New to the forum and appreciate any help anyone can give. I have a 2006 Land Cruiser (78k miles) with a stalling issue. It last happened earlier today. After running some errands, I was turning left at a light when suddenly I lost power. Pulled off the road and the engine ran but sounded like it was missing on several cylinders. When I tried to give it gas, it would not rev over 1000 RPM. I don't remember the check engine light coming on. I shut it down, waited a minute or so and tried to start it. It would turn over, but not start. I also noticed that even though I released the key, the starter continued to engage until I physically turned the key counterclockwise. I tried to restart several times with the same results. After waiting a few minutes it started and runs perfectly. This is not the first time it happened. It happened 2-3 times a year ago to my wife (not good). We took it to the dealer and there were no fault indicators in the computer.

I did fill it with gas this morning and have thought the behavior felt like a clogged fuel filter or some sort of fuel system blockage.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

Tune-Up, maybe needed.... I'm no mechanic.

This appears to be a common issue with the model year 2006 (Land cruiser & Lexus LX). I am not really certain what contributes to this but there are several of us that have experienced the problem so far.

Depending on which Dealership you visit, they may or may not have come across a customer with the problem before. Bottom-line, a formal diagnostic and/or permanent solution hasn't be formulated yet.

I am feeling your pain. Check out my thread below;
