My DD is a 2006 Impreza, not a WRX, or STI, just a base model.

In the winter: I ski a lot, and ski patrol, so I head out on the roads early in the worst conditions. I have snow tires, so traction never seems to be a problem, but the airdam on the front scoops snow. So basically I want a lift kit to gain some ground clearance for winter driving. I seem to drive the car the same as my FJ40, so the front bumper has bashed off curbs, snow drifts etc, and looks terrible.

In the Summer: I go mountian biking and camping, I have a hitch mount bike rack, and with 2 or 3 bikes on the back, and a car load of camping gear, the car looks like we're going to do a wheelie. I would like to be able to do some spring pre-load adjustment in the rear springs.

I called a couple of the local tuner shops and no one seems to have a source for springs, structs of coil-overs that will give me a positive change in ride height. It seems there is only lowering kits available (which I find hard to believe).

So, does anyone know how I can meet my goals?

Thanks, Kevin

PM "jonah tapert" here on the forums. I think his buddy builds rally cars, I doubt they drop those.

Foresters have the same under carraige as the imprezas. I know for a fact that Turbo forester owners use STi springs and struts to lower the foresters, why not the other way around. the foresters use dropped crossmembers and trans mounts to keep control arm angles closer to where they are supposed to be but the struts and springs will bolt up. Alignment would be necessary afterwards and camber and caster may be off but toe should still be adjustable to within spec.

If you were closer I would say stop by my work (Anchor Subaru) and I could do a test fit with some stuff I have lying around.

So the Forester Springs and Struts should bolt in and give some lift, that's good to know. How much change in ride height do you think I would see?
