2006 - alarm/lock question

When I purchased my 06, it did not have a master key (only valet). I purchased a master and had the key and vehicle programmed at the dealership. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason for the alarm to go off. For example, I can unlock the vehicle and walk away. When I come back the vehicle will be unlocked but when I open the door the alarm starts. Is this normal? Is there anyway to turn the alarm system off?

You need to hook the truck up to techstream and turn off the automatic arming feature. Requires a trip to your dealer.
