2005 LX 470: torque propeller shaft bolts

Looking for tips on how to do this given play in the system.
OK to just torque with the play or better to try to stabilize the shaft against turning as one tries to tighten the bolts?

I prefer to stabilize the shaft...interesting on the back end.
