2005 6 speed shifter boot: how's that secured? (1 Viewer)

The shifter boot for the 6 speed manual in my 2005 4x4 access cab is just sitting there.
The parts printout from my friendly toyota dealer shows no clips or anything securing it to the console....

Surely that can't be the deal? That it just floats there?

The parts diagram shows it as an integrated piece of the front console box. So maybe it was just glued to the plastic?

It's a snap fit...there are tangs in the plastic on right and left sides.
