I had the same thing in my '01 TDI...totally agree with you. Great car, I miss driving it. It had 255K miles when I sold it and would regularly get 50 mpg hwy and 42 in town. When my oldest kid gets her license in a couple yrs I plan to shop for another one.
Good luck with the sale!

I've got an '01 TDI Bug I'm looking to trade! :D
Sorry to hear you told it Tom, I sold the 62 as well. Miss the hell out of it, now looking for an 80!

Good luck on selling the Jetta, I'll pass the word around to fellow TDI'rs

$5800 obo
would much rather trade for an 80 though
still possibly interested in a 4runner would have to be a 3rd gen v6 auto 4x4 preferably a 99 with a locking rear but im flexible.....

gas at 3 a gallon... i get 45mpg

i really want an 80/lx450 i have some $$ to throw in with the jetta for the right cruiser
or any cruiser with a diesel...

i hate being that guy who bumps his add but i really want to sell/trade this for a 4wd

would be interested in a tacoma (for some reason today i really started wanting a 4cyl 4wd auto reg cab with the short bed)

80s still my first choice though and i have the jetta + cash to trade....

Good luck with the sale I've been looking into getting a TDI for my commuter car since I got a new job with a 110+ mile commute. My '89 pickup is doing it but I can save $150 a month in gas if I get a TDI. I would be interested in your Jetta but I think I would rather have a Golf. From having a 4cyl pickup 4wd I can tell you do not want a auto it will be a dog. I have been over on TDIclub and know I want a manual.
Good luck with sale!

i have a very nice 1991 fj80,been weel maintained.all preventative done plus a aussie locker.may consider a trade if ur interested

didnt mean to ignore this i must have let the notification about a reply slip by me... which is weird if i spent as much time studying as i do on mud maybe id be outa college by now... different story though..

I am really looking for a 93+ cruiser

but... send me an e-mail with some pics/info maybe the cruiser gods are pointing me towards something....

tevogel
i believe i got an e-mail from you
when i tried to reply it said i can not send a message to this user

ill send what i tried to e-mail to you as a PM here on mud

gas at 3.5 a gallon cost to drive 1000 miles getting 14mpg $250.25
diesel at 3.8 a gallon cost to drive 1000 miles getting 45mpg $84.50
everything 1000 miles driven the jetta saves $165.75

if you average a thousand miles a month thats a savings of 2k a year...

what could you do with an extra two thousand dollars.....

then theres always home made bio diesel the option to use WVO
or just pick the jetta up now and when fuel hits $5 a gallon you will make your money back even faster...

really less interested now in cash i just really want a land cruiser 93 or newer. (i also have a 1980 fj40 a little tinkering left to do but as soon as i finish things up on that project she will also be for sale my ultimate goal is to turn my two vehicles into one Fzj80 and never buy another vehicle as long as i live)
