I have a 2004 lx470. The tilt mechanism started acting up and I need some suggestions.
I was on a road trip and my wife adjusted the seat up on her turn to drive. It went up fine but would not go back down. In my wisdom, I started playing with it bumping it up and up and up until it was adjusted all the way up. I'm 6'2" so all the way up isn't ideal. When you try to adjust down, you can hear the motor try to turn for a second but nothing moves.
I unbolted the seat and played with the mechanism and was able to back it down a bit with a socket but it was very tight.
I think the motor is fine since it will go up. My understanding is the current is just reversed to make it turn the other direction. I can't think of a reason the motor would work in one direction but not the other.
Can you just replace the mechanism? If so, I can't find the parts.
