We have recently purchased a 2004 Land Cruiser. We put in a DVD for the kids but there isnt any sound. I thought maybe it had something to do with the "on/source" button on the rear audio control but when I push the source button it says invalid. It only plays the radio. Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I'm justnot familiar with the vehicle at all so any help is appreciated.
I posted the exact same question a few weeks back when I picked up a new to me 2003 LX470. The sound comes through the radio. It's usually in the high 80's to low 90's. Mine was programmed at 89.1 when I bought it. unfortunately I had a strong signal from a local radio station that was preventing the sound to come through. I fully lowered the antenna mast which helped but I still had some static. I then found a dead station (90.5) and programmed the stereo to go through it. I could not have done any this without the factory remote. Hopefully you have that. With the antenna all the way down the sound comes through really clear. Also, the DVD player in your dash does not control the rear screen. The rear screen has it's own DVD player in the 3rd row area built into the wall on the passenger side. It's a HORRIBLE location. If you want to change DVD's you have to pull over and climb into the back. If your on a long road trip and you want to keep your kids entertained (and have your car stuffed to the brim) you have to pull a bunch of stuff out just to get to the DVD. HORRIBLE!!!
Thank you sooooo much! I did find ours on 87.7 and it was a little fuzzy though. I would have never figured that out LOL! If you have a chance could you tell me how to reset it to a clearer channel? I do have the factory remote.
Sit in the back seat with the remote. Push the "set up" button. Then scroll down on the menu to "FM modulator" and pick the station that has the weakest radio station. i would suggest you scrowl through the mid 80's to low 90's station and find the worst one first and then climb into the back seat and set the DVD audio to that station. Remember to lower your antenna all the way down every time you use that rear DVD.
